Sandbox Percussion + Andy Akiho: Pentalateral

Grammy Award-winning Sandbox Percussion and Portland’s own Pulitzer finalist and seven-time Grammy-nominated composer/percussionist Andy Akiho collaborate on Pentalateral. Following their acclaimed Seven Pillars performances and recording, this evening-length work combines Sandbox’s percussion mastery with Akiho’s steel pan artistry to expand contemporary classical music boundaries. Described as a “celebration of noise” (The New York Times), audiences will experience this world premiere collaboration one week after its New York City debut at 92nd Street Y.
