In this intensive experience, participants will learn, rehearse, and perform alongside Sandbox Percussion through daily rehearsals, coachings, and workshops.
All students must submit an application below and will be required to provide the following:
PRE-EXISTING ENSEMBLES: A list of all group members (NB: each member must submit an application form), as well as any additional information you would like to share about your group.
Open to participants of all ages.
We are delighted to offer an Observation Pass for the Summer Seminar, open to everyone of all ages – from students to hobbyists to professionals. Observation Pass participants will be able to observe all performance classes, Sandbox Percussion masterclasses, and guest artist seminars.
Housing is available for observation pass participants who are at least 18 years of age.

The Sandbox Percussion Summer Seminar is an immersive week of chamber music, performance, and creative collaboration led by the members of Sandbox Percussion. Designed for percussionists and chamber ensembles at a range of levels, the seminar offers participants the opportunity to work closely with all four members of Sandbox through daily rehearsals, coachings, workshops, and masterclasses.
Throughout the week, participants explore a diverse range of contemporary percussion and chamber music, developing their performance skills while engaging deeply with the collaborative and creative processes that define professional ensemble playing. Participants work in small ensembles and receive intensive coaching from each member of Sandbox, with opportunities for hands-on collaboration, experimentation, and discussion.
Beyond the music, the seminar provides insight into the many aspects of building and sustaining a career as a professional chamber musician. Evening masterclasses and discussions address artistic development, collaboration, programming, rehearsal techniques, and the practical realities of life as a performing ensemble.
The week culminates in a public performance featuring the participants alongside Sandbox Percussion, celebrating the work developed throughout the seminar and bringing together a community of emerging musicians, educators, and professional artists.
