The GRAMMY®-nominated ensemble Sandbox Percussion, a quartet of established leaders in contemporary art music and percussion, received a 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant on March 20, 2024.
Multi-GRAMMY® nominee-Christopher Cerrone’s new album is a decade-long journey through sound, collaboration, and innovation. From the first sketches of Goldbeater’s Skin in 2015 to the final touches on Ode To Joy in 2023, these works reflect his deep connection and friendship with Sandbox Percussion.
Sandbox Percussion serves on the faculty of the Peabody Institute Percussion Department, bringing the ensemble’s internationally recognized expertise in contemporary performance, collaboration, and new music to one of the nation’s leading conservatories.
We are honored to join The New School College of Performing Arts as Ensemble-in-Residence and very excited to bring our annual Summer Seminar to Mannes. It is a great privilege to work with such talented students as part of The New School’s prestigious faculty at our home base – New York City.
